Floor Cleaning Chemicals
More Product Information:
Use floor cleaning chemicals not plain water if you are worried about
how its looks when you have finished. Of course, you will have the
problem of staining that water would not remove where professionally
made stone floor products could. You could choose not to bother
cleaning the floor at all and let the stone gradually get dirty with
ingrained staining that would be difficult, if not impossible, to get
out by chemically cleaning or stripping the floor. We would recommend
due care and attention!
There are stone floor cleaning chemicals on the market which have been designed to wash stone
effectively. These include floor products such as Fila, which is a
neutral pH cleaner for everyday maintenance, or Fila PS87 which is an
alkali cleaning or stripping product designed to shift oil based
stains. For staining which requires an acidic floor cleaner you could use Deterdek which is for the removal of grout residues, building site dirt, saline effervescence, lime deposits from floors, walls, and tiles in showers and as a penetrating cleaner for external paving. Perhaps the stronger version of Deterdek, Fila pH Zero would be appropriate, or Fila Dewax which can be used for treating floors when linseed oil is to be removed. Where a finish has been applied to the stone (whether surface or impregnating seals, waxes, lacquers or other finishes) there is often a requirement to remove them if they become dirty or less effective.
Stone floor cleaning is an essential maintenance that can be carried out very quickly as part of your household chores or where you are carrying out major stripping work as part of a re-furbish. A question that is often asked is when or how often do my work? This answer to this question varies as it can depend on the type of stone, the amount of traffic that goes over the area. For example, in a kitchen around the position of the cooker it is more likely to get dirtier than say an area that is less used in the kitchen. The softer stones like sandstone, limestone, and travertine all suffer a fairly heavy wear factor this creates dust from the surface of the stone whereas, granite is much harder and does not wear so quickly, causing less dust from the stone.
Some of the better known floor cleaning products are manufactured by Fila Industria Chemica spa from Italy, Stingel Chemi from Germany (who produce the Lithofin range of cleaners) and LTP who are a British based company.
They all have floor cleaning products that cover a range of requirements and all companies are well established with years of experience. Lithofin products are well known in Europe and include cleaners such as Wexa, Wax Off, Ceramic Clean, Mildew Away and many others.
